BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Dr. Hans Fung - President, Director
Serves as President of Expatriate Education International. Throughout his distinguished career in international Christian education, he has held senior leadership positions at Tien Shan International School (Kazakhstan), Black Forest Academy (Germany), TeachBeyond, and Dalat International School (Malaysia). Dr. Fung holds an Ed.D. from Northcentral University, an M.A. from San Diego State University, a Master of Missiology from Canadian Theological Seminary, and a B.A. from the University of Regina. His extensive experience in educational leadership, school development, and cross-cultural ministry has equipped him to serve schools and organizations around the world.
Dr. Jerry Bowen - Chair, Director
Served for 22 years as a Senior Director of Accreditation for the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). With more than 48 years of Christian school leadership and accreditation experience, he has chaired over 280 accreditation teams both nationally and internationally, helping schools pursue excellence and improvement. Prior to his work with ACSI, Jerry served in the USAF overseas and as an administrator for 21 years in a local Christian school. Today, he brings his unique perspective as a third-culture kid (TCK) and educational leader to a string of interim school head roles and his service with Expatriate Education International and its partner schools. He holds an Ed.D, M.B.A., M.Ed., and B.A. from the University of Arizona. Jerry and his wife have been married for more than 50 years and are blessed with three grown daughters and a batch of grandchildren.
Dr. Karen Wrobbel - Vice Chair, Director
Semi-retired after a long career in education. Her most recent positions were in Christian higher education, serving as Dean of Trinity College and Trinity Graduate School at Trinity International University and as Professor of International Leadership at Gordon College. During her years of service with The Evangelical Alliance Mission (TEAM), she taught in Christian schools in Spain and Venezuela while investing in the development of future educational leaders. Dr. Wrobbel holds an Ed.D. from the University of Minnesota, an M.A. from Wheaton College, a B.A. from Biola University, and a diploma from Moody Bible Institute. Her career reflects a deep commitment to leadership development, global education, and Christian mission. She and her husband, Paul, enjoy kayaking, biking, and cruising, as well as spending time with their two adult daughters & sons-in-love, and eight grandchildren.
Mr. Tim Thompson - Treasurer, Director
Serves as Director of School Operations for the Network of International Christian Schools (NICS). Previously, he was Director of Accreditation for the International Division of the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). Over the course of his career, Tim has held senior leadership positions at Omaha Christian Academy (Nebraska), Hinkson Christian Academy (Russia), Trinity Christian School (North Carolina), and Glennville Christian Academy (Georgia). He holds degrees from Bob Jones University and Welch College and brings decades of experience in school administration, accreditation, and organizational leadership. Tim and his wife, Deanna, have 3 adult TCKs and 8 grandkids.
Dr. Dennis Vogan - Director
Served with WorldVenture for more than 43 years, retiring as its Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Earlier in his career, he served as Head of School at Faith Academy in the Philippines for 11 years. During his tenure, he led strategic campus development initiatives, oversaw the development of the UK GCSE and US AP programs, and played a key role in the establishment of Faith Academy Davao City, now known as Faith International Academy. Dr. Vogan holds several degrees from reputable schools. His leadership experience spans international education, strategic planning, crisis management, and global ministry. Dennis and his wife have been married 54 years and have four children and six grandchildren.
Dr. Judith Severns - Director
Serves as an adjunct professor at Cairn University, where she is the Director of International Student Teaching and actively contributes to the university’s missions programs. She previously served at Faith Academy in the Philippines, followed by working as the TCK Education Coordinator for SEND, concluding her 42 years of service, investing in the lives of students and families from around the world. Her extensive cross-cultural experience and passion for global Christian education continue to influence her leadership and service. Judith holds degrees from Azusa Pacific University and Cairn University. Talking about her grandnieces, grandnephews, and their parents gives Aunt Judy great delight!
Mrs. Sharon Brobst - Director
Brings 40 years of experience in teaching, educational leadership, and school administration. Throughout her career, she has served in senior leadership roles at several respected Christian schools, including the International Christian School of Vienna (Austria), Lancaster County Christian School (Pennsylvania), and Living Word Academy (Pennsylvania). She especially loved teaching MKs at Rift Valley Academy (Kenya). Dr. Brobst holds an Ed.D. from Liberty University, an M.A. from Keene State College, and a B.A. from The King’s College. She is widely respected for her commitment to academic excellence, leadership development, and Christian education. Sharon has been married to her college sweetheart, Greg, for 46 years. They have three married children and three grand-children. Sharon continues to enjoy leading international accreditation teams for ACSI and serving as a doctoral mentor at Columbia International University.
Mr. David Love - Director
Serves as Vice President of Global Initiatives at WorldVenture, where he has served for more than 25 years. His broad professional background includes leadership in accounting, communications, organizational development, and international project management. Throughout his career, he has led diverse teams and initiatives across multiple countries, helping organizations strengthen their global impact. Dr. Love holds a Doctorate in Strategic Leadership from Regent University, an M.A. from Western Seminary, and a B.A. from Warner Pacific University. His expertise in strategic leadership and global ministry provides valuable guidance to schools and organizations worldwide.
